About Katie
Katie is the founder of 3183 Comms, providing curious and candid communications to mission-driven organizations. Prior to launching 3183 Comms in 2025, Katie spent 13 years at M+R Communications, a consulting firm serving the nonprofit sector. At M+R, Katie developed communications strategies and oversaw media relations, advocacy, and awareness campaigns for clients including Habitat for Humanity, Feeding America, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, the Pew Charitable Trusts, and the National Council of Nonprofits. She also led numerous internal communications projects, guiding staff during periods of organizational change, organizing retreats, and spearheading regular team-building initiatives. Before joining M+R, Katie led communications for the youth outreach arm of The Center for American Progress, promoted award-winning documentary films at a boutique PR firm, and elevated the voices of wrongfully convicted individuals at a criminal justice nonprofit. In her free time, you can find Katie at the movies, playing pickleball (badly), volunteering at the local food bank, or kicking a** at bar trivia. Katie is a proud Georgetown University alumna and is based in the great state of Connecticut, the Pizza Capital of the U.S.
